Leagues

Connect your league’s Discord

After every round of your league, SimCast’s bot can post the result, the standings, and links to the highlight reel and each driver’s own clips — straight into the league’s Discord. It takes about two minutes to set up, once per league.

What you need

Setting it up

1. Add SimCast to the server. In SimCast: Leagues tab > Post to this league’s Discord > Add SimCast to your Discord. A server admin picks the server and says yes. Not the admin? Press Copy a message for your league admin and paste it to them — it tells them exactly what to do.

2. Get a code. In the channel the results should go in, the admin types /simcast connect and picks the person who broadcasts. Discord shows a code like 7KQM-4XPD. It works once, for 24 hours, and only for that broadcaster.

3. Type the code into SimCast. Leagues tab > Results and standings > Code from Discord > Connect. SimCast’s bot says hello in the channel, and the row shows where it is posting. Send a test post checks it any time.

The bot needs three permissions in that channel: View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links. If one is missing, it tells you which.

What gets posted

Videos go as links, never as files, so nothing is shrunk to fit Discord. The links work for one day — the post says exactly when they stop — so download anything you want to keep.

What does not get posted

Separate channels for the reel and the clips

By default everything goes in the one channel. If the league wants the highlight reel or the drivers’ clip links kept apart from the results, give each a channel of its own: the admin types /simcast connect in that channel, and the code goes into the matching row on the Leagues tab — Highlight reel or Drivers’ clip links. A row left empty goes with the results.

More than one league, or more than one series

Each league on the Leagues tab has its own connection, so each can post to its own Discord server. Connect each one the same way. A league that runs several series (say a GT3 series and a Caterham series) has one entry per series, and each entry can have its own channel — or they can share one.

You do not pick a channel on race night. SimCast posts to the channels of the league you picked before pressing Start, and only when the session really is a round of that league.
